FAQ

  • What type of Continuing Education is offered?

Vet Clinpath Consulting offers a full range of continuing education for both veterinarians and veterinary nurses. We can provide semi-formal lectures in a clinic setting with high quality power point presentations, wet lab sessions in haematology, cytology and urine sediment examination, microscope examination of smears and wet preps using high a quality microscope projection system. The use of a real time microscope camera and projector enables everyone present to see the slides and to ensure accurate identification of cells and objects under the microscope. Examples of various haematological conditions and examples of common cytological lesions are available for use in CE sessions.

  • What type of support for interpretation of in-house results is available?

Vet Clinpath Consulting offers verbal or written interpretation and discussion of in-house laboratory results, with an experienced clinical pathologist available at all times to help veterinary practitioners with their results and general diagnostics. Advice is available via phone or email.

  • What time of day /week can we have a CE session?

Continuing education sessions are available during the day (including weekends) or the evenings. The sessions can encompass a full day of CE with both lectures and wet labs or can be individual 3 hour sessions. The design of the sessions is flexible and you are requested to contact VCPC to discuss your requirements.

  • How much is a CE session going to cost?

The cost will depend up on what type and level of support you require. Some clinics have negotiated a full support package with regular continuing education sessions and access to an experienced clinical pathologist at all times. For individual CE sessions, the cost will depend upon the number of contact hours requested and number of veterinarians/veterinary nurses involved. We suggest you contact Vet Clinpath Consulting to determine the most cost effective and suitable programme for your clinic and staff.

  • What facilities do we need?

For the semi-formal lectures and information sessions you only need a table and a couple of power points. To gain the most from the sessions, having your own operational microscope and a set of in-house stains is desirable, but not essential.

  • Do I need to have in-house pathology machines?

Although the purpose of CE sessions for many clinics is to improve their accuracy of results and optimise the potential of their investment in in-house pathology machines, Vet Clinpath Consulting can help clinics with the bare minimum of pathology equipment (microscope, diff quick stain, refractometer and PCV machine) to do accurate haematology, basic pre-anaesthetic checks, examination of cytology samples /smears and assessment of urine samples.

  • What follow up and support do we get following a CE session?

For one month following a VCPC session, an experienced clinical pathologist will be available to help your clinic with any technical or diagnostic problems.
